Quick answers to the questions mentors and mentees ask us the most. Reach out anytime if you don't see yours here.
Individual meetings can cover a broad range of topics, depending on your interests and needs. This could include talking about internships and university applications but also discussing recent developments in the field of interest.
Our mentees are in their last one to three years of high school.
Our Mentoring is mainly in English, although we try to find a mentor for our mentees that speak their native language.
You will get insights into your field of interest, receive support with applications to universities, scholarships and internships as well as learn valuable soft and hard skills.
Mentors are usually university students or recent graduates that share the same interests and study backgrounds of their mentees.
The registration process starts with the mentee filling out the registration form. Within one to two weeks, we will get back to you and will tell you whether we have found a suitable mentor for you. Mentees can then reach out to their mentor and schedule a first meeting. Registering for our program does not guarantee a mentor.
After our Masterclasses, students get a small homework that usually takes 30-60 minutes.
Mentees should commit 2 hours each week to the mentoring program over the course of 10 weeks.

No, you don't need to have attended an American University for Undergraduate/Graduate degrees to become a mentor. We welcome and encourage students and young adults from diverse backgrounds to register as a mentor.
After filling out our registration form, we will try to get back to you within a few weeks and will schedule a get-to-know video call with you. This is not an interview but rather a coffee chat to get to know each other and see whether it is a good fit.
Anyone who is currently enrolled at a university or has recently graduated from a university and is passionate about mentoring can become a mentor. There are no filters.
Depending on your capacity, we usually assign one to three mentees per mentor. During exam periods and intense times such as an internship or thesis research, mentors can pause their commitment.
We expect a time commitment of 1.5h/week/mentee from our mentors alongside professionalism as well as involvement in our mentor community.
